Brothers Ryan and Matt McGuigan make up the core of local pop-rockers Moses Prey. Originally from Florida, the McGuigan men moved to Omaha in 1998 and 2004, respectively. They soon recruited an arsenal of artists to join their musical mission.

Matt explained, "We were pretty much looking for musicians that were more talented than we were. We figured if we play with people that are better than us then we're only going to get better." Joined by Philh Cacciatore (guitar/harmonica), Matt Sekanick (guitar), Steve Gomez (bass), Tomm Roland (drums), Eric Perlstein and Mark Irvin (backup vocals), Moses Prey is undoubtedly influenced by 60s pop and contemporary indie rock. The second Ryan McGuigan starts singing the first track on the recently released, "A Paper Moon," whimsical thoughts inevitably flood the listener's ears. The airiness of the music is comparable to Ween's "Pure Guava," or The Beatles' "Revolver." Although the new album took over a year to complete, Moses Prey would not have had it any other way. Matt divulged, "I'll go six months wihout writing a song. My own thing is I don't want any of the songs to sound the same. I think bands get too caught up in having a 'sound' and they do the same thing over and over again on the album."

True to his work, "A Paper Moon," is a preservation of originality, incorporating a myriad of styles into thirteen fresh tracks.
